Important Insurance Information
Dr.
Trina Seligman and Dr. Geoff Lecovin are credentialed and
licensed with many of the major health insurance carriers
in our state. Some insurance carriers allow subscribers
to choose Naturopathic Doctors as their Primary Care Physician
(PCP), while other companies consider Naturopaths as a Specialist.
If your insurance company requires you to choose a PCP,
you will need a referral to see a Naturopath, just like
you would any specialist. We are fortunate to live in a
progressive state that allows patients to choose Naturopathic
Doctors as their primary care physician. Many insurance
companies will allow you a yearly physical/wellness exam,
which is one of the many services a Naturopathic Doctor
can provide. School or sports physicals can also be scheduled
with one of the doctors. Please bring all the necessary
forms at the time of your appointment.
Insurance
can be complicated. We encourage you to contact your insurance
carrier to clarify your benefits. Payments for services
not covered by insurance are due at the time of visit.
Insurance
Plans:
Regence Blue Shield, Premera Blue Cross, Great West, First
Choice Aetna and Uniform Medical are among a few of the
companies that Dr. Seligman and Dr. Lecovin are credentialed
with. Group Health and the Alliance with Virginia Mason
are also included in this list.
Out
of State:
It is common that Out of State Insurance coverage will not
reimburse for Naturopathic care. Please contact your insurance
company directly to find out if this will affect you.
Labor
and Industries & Motor Vehicle Accidents:
Dr .Lecovin is a L&I provider. In addition, he treats
patients who have been involved in motor vehicle accidents.
Know
your benefits:
Please call your insurance to confirm benefits for Naturopathic
care, Acupuncture and Chiropractic. You should also check
to see if there is a maximum number of visits per year or
a percentage reimbursement. It is the patients’ responsibility
to know their benefits.
Referrals:
A referral is required by some insurance plans. It is the
patients’ responsibility to obtain one from their
Primary Care Physician (PCP), prior to scheduling a visit.
Billing
and other questions:
We are happy to bill your insurance. If you have
additional questions, please contact our billing specialist,
Gina
425-646-4747.
Clinic Policies and Financial
Our Clinic Policy requires a patient to call 24 hours in
advance to inform us of a cancellation. A patient that cancels
with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to a $25
fee. A patient that is scheduled for a physical exam or
new patient visit will be billed the FULL cost of the visit.
Self-pay
patients (non-insured), fees are due at the time of service
and will be given a 5% discount.
We
are concerned for patients with financial constraints and
will work with you to put together a payment plan that will
accommodate your financial needs. Contact our billing specialist
Gina, 425-646-4747.
Naturopathic Scope of Practice
Naturopathic
Doctors have limited prescription privileges. Naturopaths
can prescribe hormones, antibiotics, diuretics and some
other classes of drugs. Because of the prescription limitations,
we are happy to refer you to a Medical Doctor if you are
in need of a prescription refill, or medication monitoring
for a drug we cannot prescribe and we will refer you immediately
for any acute medications (ie pain medications) that are
not included in our prescribing privileges.
